At SCA Expo this year, we’ll be spreading the word about NKG Bloom! We’re eager for more of our customers and the industry to understand this initiative, which is our long-term investment in smallholder coffee farmers. Through full-time, dedicated NKG colleagues, NKG Bloom offers farmers the services and resources they need to run their farms as profitable businesses — in hopes that they’ll happily (and successfully) remain in the coffee business.
In fact, we’re so eager for you to learn more about NKG Bloom, we’ve created a 5-question mobile quiz that visitors to our booth (#1647!) can take by scanning a QR code on the wall. Everyone who correctly answers all five questions will be automatically entered to win a trip to Mexico to experience NKG Bloom in person!
Farmer support teams offer service packages that vary according to each farmer’s needs and the resources and realities in each country. In Honduras, there’s a great need for resilient seedlings, while in Uganda, mobile microloans have been life changing.
The contest will be open from Friday morning, when the show opens, until Sunday afternoon when the show closes. We’ll announce the winner Friday, May 5.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution to sustainability, so NKG Bloom works a little differently in each country, based on the needs there. Currently, NKG Bloom is in four countries and meaningfully impacting the lives of more than 81,000 coffee families — while headed toward a goal of 300,000 families across 10 countries by 2030.
We’ll have NKG colleagues at Expo from the NKG Bloom countries of Mexico, Honduras and Kenya (Uganda is the fourth country), as well as colleagues from Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru and Papua New Guinea, plus our representative in Ethiopia. Many of them will be giving “10-Minute Talks” in the booth. If you have a coffee question or an NKG-related question, we’ll have an expert colleague available to answer!
