Claudia Yatio Nakao was born in Catanduva, São Paulo, into a multigenerational coffee-growing family. As both the daughter and granddaughter of producers, her connection to coffee is deeply rooted in tradition and shaped by decades of hands-on experience.
In the 1990s, her parents relocated to Minas Gerais, recognizing the agricultural potential of the Cerrado Mineiro. There, they became early pioneers in establishing coffee production in the region, contributing to the development of what is now one of Brazil’s most important and consistent origins for high-quality Arabica coffee.
Today, Claudia leads the 3MC Nakao Group alongside her siblings, Marie and Alfredo, continuing the family’s legacy with a focus on quality-driven production, environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability. Their approach emphasizes careful farm management, efficient processing and strong, transparent relationships across the supply chain.
Claudia’s participation in the NKGV Contest, organized by NKG exporter, NKG Stockler Ltd, reflects both her commitment to continuous improvement and the growing recognition of women in coffee production.
Coffee Overview
This Brazil microlot is produced in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais at 1,026 meters above sea level. Harvested from May through September, the coffee undergoes a natural process, with whole cherry dried on patios for approximately six days before finishing in a mechanical dryer for 24 hours. The result is a high-scoring, clean, structured cup profile with balanced sweetness and classic Brazil character.
