Green coffee purchasing sits at the intersection between suppliers and roasters, with parties on both sides of the transaction varying dramatically in size, scope, resources and financial mobility. As importers, our companies purchase green coffee ourselves, and also facilitate the purchasing done by our roaster-customers. In this light "Purchasing" becomes a very broad term, and one that shapeshifts, requiring different skill-sets and strategies depending upon the particulars. We will hear from four Green Coffee Purchasers to glean a clearer understanding of the demands of this crucial role in the supply chain.
