Mexico NKG Bloom Bellavista

Mexico NKG Bloom Bellavista is named after the region in which it is produced — namely Frontera, Chiapas in Bellavista. Coffee grown here benefits from the microclimate of the Sierra Madre range (bordering the Huehuetenango mountains).

Coffee is cultivated under the shade of native trees, in areas rich with endemic flora and fauna, using sustainable practices.

Mexico NKG Bloom Bellavista is grown, harvested and processed by a small group of producers. They de-pulp the coffee manually, ferment it in wooden tanks, and sun-dry the parchment on patios.

Producers of Mexico NKG Bloom Bellavista are enrolled in  NKG Bloom is a global initiative of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe aimed at ending the cycle of poverty in the coffee supply chain by empowering producers to run their farms at full potential and maximize their net incomes.

Por Más Café & NKG Bloom

Por Más Café was created by NKG export company Exportadora de Café California (ECC) in 2014, to address the coffee rust crisis. Since then, 4,520 producers have benefitted from the program, more than 5,300 hectares of coffee have been renovated, $11.2 million U.S. has been offered in financing and more than $34 million has been invested in farm renovations.

Now, Por Más Café is a part of NKG Bloom. Through this initiaive, producers gain access to custom service packages to producers that may include financing, high-quality inputs, seedlings, agronomy and business training, information services, access to markets and new coffee technologies. On the ground, ECC’s Unit for Sustainable Services to Producers (USSP) assesses producers’ specific needs, engages with farmers who are struggling to meet sustainability standards, and provides them with custom service packages, so that every earnest effort and improvement is encouraged.

About the Bag Art

The iconic VW Bus, known as the Kombi, was originally designed in the early 1960s as a utility vehicle for factories and commercial use. It soon found an unexpected following among surfers, families, and the counterculture movement, becoming one of the most recognizable vehicles of its era. By the 1970s, Mexico was producing both the Vocho (Beetle) and the Kombi, and the two models became fixtures of daily life across the country. In Bellavista, these classic vehicles are still a common sight, transporting coffee cherries, supplies, and people between buying stations and coffee farms.

The 1976 Kombi featured on our Bellavista bags pays tribute to a vehicle imported from Germany to Costa Rica by a German family, who traveled throughout the Americas in it during the 1980s—a journey that embodies the spirit of adventure and connection that coffee inspires.

Its bright yellow color is a nod to the beloved Mexican game Vocho Amarillo. The rules are simple: when you spot a yellow Beetle, call it out before anyone else—or risk a playful punch on the arm. So the next time you spot a Bellavista bag, let the games begin!
