Peru El Santuario Fairtrade Organic is a microlot offering from Don Anibal Jaime, a member of Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio (COOPAFSI) in San Ignacio, Cajamarca. More specifically, Don Anibal is one of the cooperative’s star producers. His hard work is reflected in the quality of his coffee, as well as the diversification of his farm. He has included the cultivation of sugarcane for aguardiente distilling as well as a tilapia fish pool.

Peru El Santuario Fairtrade Organic is made up of Caturra, Typica, Catuai and Bourbon varieties, which Don Anibal cultivates using Organic practices. His coffee is fully washed and sun-dried.

COOPAFSI

Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio (COOPAFSI) was founded in 1968. Today, it offers critical services to its 355 members. These service include access to a wet mill in San Ignacio and a dry mill in Chiclayo, an experimental plot and educational center, a nursery and organic fertilizer. It also has two quality control labs run by Q Graders.

Additionally, COOPAFSI offers a young entrepreneur’s program, technical assistance, income diversification (including guidance for guinea pig farms and honey production) and microloan access. It also has a community coffee shop.
